When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black
And you white fellow
When you born, you pink
When you grow up, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you cold, you blue
When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray
And you calling me coloured?
I came across this poem in a mail..written by an african kid!! It was nominated by the UN as the best poem of 2006!!
I mean this poem is so very valid in today's world!! it feels really sad to know that today in such an advanced world.. people are still divided on the basis of colour!! i mean how can your colour judge your nature, personality, intelligence and other features!! i mean all humans are born on the same very earth and die on the same very earth.. so how can you diffrentiate betwwen people!!
Hopefully in the coming years.. humans will become mentally more sane and learned... and of course more 'humane' :)

Hmmm.. True man. This is the ONLY kid on earth whom I am fond of! hehe...
But seriously, really awesome poem! :)
I am speechless!! I have to confess...I was a racist a long time ago...probably because of all the thoughts the society put into my mind! But when I went to US, I met this girl Aisha who had come from senegal...she spoke only french...I didn't know french, but all the time when I was there, she used to sit with me and we used to talk in sign languages, we even played football together. She even gave me a braclet and thats when I realised how good, friendly and sweet these african americans are...since then, I felt a lot of respect for these people! Meeting her brought into me a big transformation.... now I am totally against racism...n ya I love the poem!!!!!:-)...Vaish
