Black Vs White - The race of colour

When I born, I black

When I grow up, I black

When I go in Sun, I black

When I scared, I black

When I sick, I black

And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow

When you born, you pink

When you grow up, you white

When you go in sun, you red

When you cold, you blue

When you scared, you yellow

When you sick, you green

And when you die, you gray

And you calling me coloured?

I came across this poem in a mail..written by an african kid!! It was nominated by the UN as the best poem of 2006!!
I mean this poem is so very valid in today's world!! it feels really sad to know that today in such an advanced world.. people are still divided on the basis of colour!! i mean how can your colour judge your nature, personality, intelligence and other features!! i mean all humans are born on the same very earth and die on the same very earth.. so how can you diffrentiate betwwen people!!
Hopefully in the coming years.. humans will become mentally more sane and learned... and of course more 'humane' :)

The Past,Present & Future..An Ode to Life!!

One night while studyin Home Science.. 2 days before my half yearly paper some rhyming thougths crossed my mind!! Funny that time was.. once these thougts started flowing in... i kept on writing them & within 7 mins a whole new poem was created.. my first ever 'sensible' poem!!

I always did have a 'philosiphical' mind.. but i never thougth of putting it down on paper!! This poem was completely magical.. Unbelievably.. it gave me a feeling of a strong power within me.. These words just came from deep inside spontaneously!! That was a really special moment coz.. rightnow if you ask me to write.. it would take me days.. but that was just a spiritual moment which brought this following poem to my mind!! I still can never forget that blissful moment.. i was in a completely different world!!

The poem may not be soo wonderful or appealing or make complete rhyming sense but it definitely helps me in my life.. Ive not shared it with many people but now i would like to share it with all of you so that in some way or the other you could relate to it!! Here it goes...

The Past,Present & Future...
An Ode to Life!!

The beautiful days come & go,
And you dont even get to know.
Time flies with the wind,
And before you know its the next season.

God gives you a single life,
Why not make full use of the while.
Make each day as beautiful as before,
And the next yet to come & go.

Make each & every second useful,
So that you feel successful.
And by the time the day ends,
You have nothing to lose, but only to gain.

Make mistakes but always accept,
So that you know how to go about it next.
Always be confident and sure,
But never go beyond your tenure.

Always be true to yourself,
So as to be true to others.
Always listen to your inner voice,
And you will forever rejoice.

Hope you like it!!
Aru..

Life.. before Pune!!

Born in Delhi & bought up in the small town-bhopal..( actually.. its not that small :) ) i was this naughty li'l brat always upto sumthin :D. I was in St Joseph's convent till upper KG!! and gosh i was pretty famous there..obviously for the wrong reasons :)!! Mom keeps on telling me the time when she use to go for parent-teachers meet... teachers would actually tell her "Oh..ure Arushi's mom" :D. You see i was this 'innocent' student who use to get out of the class without taking the teachers permission and that too while she was teaching and go for a nice stroll around the school :)!! and the teachers fearing other students wont follow me.. would actually never scold me ( You know .. 'child psychology' )!!
Believe it or not.. one afternoon wen i was around 4-5 yrs old.. everyone at home was asleep..& i actually unlocked my house door and went for a walk on the streets.. a maid actually found me on the streets got me back home and said " yeh aapki beti hain na.."& the next afternoon my hands and legs were tied and i was made to sit on the dinig table.. n i was still smilin ( u c.. sum ppl just dont change ) and .. i still love disappearin :)

Then dad got a job in 'Republic of South Africa' and we shifted there!! I really never made good frendz but alot of family frendz.. We went for innumerable picnics,holidays,events,etc.. Those were 'royal' days!! I really never liked school :(.. But exept for one thing.. and that was hockey!! i loved hockey and played for my skool out there!! i had a British accent .. which i know now is difficult to believe:)... but life there was completely different.. of course not better than INDIA coz INDIA ROCKS!!

Then when i came to 4th std.. we shifted back 2 india.. My sis went to pune, my parents were still in SA and i shifted to Bhopal with my grandmum ( who i lovingly call 'ma' ).. Life was pretty difficult.. i joined my old skool without knowing how to write even a single word in hindi!! got a 1/20 in my first test :D.. but at the end of the year i scored 69/100.. not bad na.. after my tution teacher breakin her head on mine and my mum & dad pataoing the teacher ( trust me.. dey actually did that & she practically told dem 40% of the paper ).. i managed so much!! i recall that since i was not wid my parents i just use to get Rs 25 as my pocket money.. and i never spent a buck out of that 25 bucks..saved it all & i still have it till date :).. Life was soo spend thrift those days.. but after bhopal those days never remained :)

That phase was an awful phase wid our family being in various parts.. but it definitely helped me in forming a really close bond wid ma.. and how can i forget.. vipin uncle, rashmi aunty,Rohit bhaiya and neha didi ( who i now call Ndi :) ) who we were tenants with.. in the same row house.. were actually like a family to me and made that 1 year in bhopal possible for me...Love u all....

Then dad got a job in pune and we shifted there.. my sis was neways there but not only her.. my mum's whole family was there & life has been beautiful since then...

I sit back today & remember all those days which i can.. life was not easy.. but probably that was a childhood to remember.. :)
